I’ve been trying to hatch a good Solosis for a day or two.
My criteria weren’t that specific. I just wanted a Quiet nature with Magic Guard. I wasn’t going to care about IVs. But I didn’t have a Quiet Pokemon to use for Everstone breeding, so I was just hatcing Solosis after Solosis (I’m playing Pokemon Black, so I got my Solosis from the GTS, from someone in Japan) in the hopes that I’d get one eventually.
I didn’t. I was getting kinda annoyed, even willing to settle for a Modest Solosis instead of Quiet, should I get that first. But neither showed up!
I hatched a crappy Solosis (it had a Hardy nature, I think). Literally one step later, the next egg started to hatch, which was a big “WTF” for me. The egg shouldn’t be hatching that fast.
When it hatched, the Solosis—usually green—was blue.
Omg.
I decided immediately that this Solosis (his name is Moritat) would join my party, nature and ability be damned. So imagine my glee when I saw that it had a Modest nature and Magic Guard ability.
And then I checked its IVs and they’re kinda fantastic (17/29/26/28/28/23/7, for those that know about IVs).
Today was a good day.

The Unova gym leaders in front of the actual New York locations that their cities were based on!
Half the fun of playing Pokemon Black and White was adjusting the in-game locations to the places I’ve visited since moving to New York City. Given that I basically live in Castelia City now, that was easily the highlight, and it’s a perfect match.
